One of the key factors that you should pay attention to when choosing glasses is the light transmission category - VLT (visible light transmission), which is basically the percentage of light that the lens lets through.

The higher the VLT percentage, the more light will pass through (a high percentage is usually ideal for dark conditions), the lower the percentage, the less light will pass through (a low percentage is usually ideal for bright conditions).

We divide the VLT percentages into 5 categories:

 

  • Category 0 (80-100% VLT): Ideal for evening or cloudy days. Lenses in this category are often clear, light yellow, light orange or yellow.

They have darker shades like dark gray or dark brown and are great for people with sensitive eyes. However, it should be noted that they are not suitable for driving due to their darkness.
